Job Descriptions for Vacant Positions

These Central Service Office positions are vacant and need filling. If you are interested in any of them, please call the CSO on (08) 8221 6888.

Secretary

The Secretary shall:

a. Provide the agenda for the Committee and Council meetings.

b. Record all minutes from Committee and Council Meetings.

c. Make minutes available within ten (10) days of each meeting.

d. Maintain an email list of committee and council members

Treasurer

The Treasurer shall:

a. Ensure all financial records are kept in a clear and organized fashion keeping regular contact with the CSO Administrator.

b. Oversee monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and of out-going expenditure.

c. Present monthly reports to the committee and quarterly re-ports to the Council.

d. Present all records to the auditors review with assistance from CSO Administrator at end of financial year

e. Submit the review to the next AGM.

f. Receive weekly pay slips and timesheets from the CSO Administrator.

g. Become a second signatory for the AASA Bank Accounts.

h. Become a responsible person noted with the Australian Charities and Not for Profit for our charitable purposes.

After-Hours Phone Coordinator

The after hours phone coordinator shall:

a. Compile and update a roster of volunteers for the out-of-hours answering service.

b. Ensure volunteers are aware of AA’s Guidelines for this 12th step work.

c. Ensure the monthly roster is available at the CSO.

d. Keep the CSO Administrator informed of any changes to the roster.

e. It is recommended that all volunteers have at least twelve (12) months continuous sobriety.

Literature Officer

The Literature Officer shall:

a. Stock take and inventory update of AA conference-approved literature and medallions in the Central Service Office.

b. Communication with the Central Service Administrator regarding member literature requirements including new publications as publicized in AA Around Australia and the Grapevine catalogues.

c. Responding to the fellowship’s AA conference-approved literature requests by presenting those requests to the Administrator for ordering.

Liaison Officer - North

The Liaison Officer North/South shall:

a. Ideally will visit groups in their area over the two year period of the position on the Central Service Committee.

b. Informally visit groups, updating them about the CSO, how it operates, what is current and how groups and individual members can participate.

c. Provide a Group Pack which contains AA information relevant to the Group Liaison Officer’s visit and respond to questions from the group members.

d. Communicate with the Office Administrator in regards to Group Information Pack stock, the status of each group visited, i.e. do they have a registered secretary, CSR, newsletter subscription etc., are they contributing to 60:30:10 or making other dona-tions and any other information that may be helpful.

e. Provide feedback to CSC regarding group response to the information pack.

f. Attend monthly CSC meetings and quarterly Council Meetings.

g. Ideally will attend the corresponding Area meeting monthly.

 

Volunteers Required at the CSO

There are a number of opportunities for people to come and help at the office.

Tasks include answering phone enquires, putting together newsletters, meeting lists, filling newcomer and sponsor wallets, selling literature, assisting the CSOA with various tasks, drinking coffee/tea, meeting other members and overall enhancing your recovery by helping others.

Shifts available are: Monday mornings, Wednesdays, Thursday mornings, and Friday mornings and afternoons.

After Hours Phones:

There is a constant need for volunteers for After Hours phones. Please keep the CSO advised of your availability to help keep this vital service running.
